| Florence Kiplagat wins World Cross Country championships |
Kenya’s Florence Kiplagat has won the World Cross Country championships. The 22-year-old mother stormed away from her compatriot Linet Masai to win the event in Amman, Jordon on 28 March. In 2006 she won silver medal in the 5000m at the World Junior Championships in Beijing. Her victory in Jordan was only the second by a Kenyan at this event. Has Kenya now found an athlete to challenge the dominance of the Ethiopians in long distance running?
