25 August:  Extend the length of the sandpit and watch out if you're sitting in the front rows at the start of the home straight.  Usain Bolt has set his sights on the long jump.  After smashing the world records for the 100m and 200m at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, the 23-year-old Jamaican has said that he would like to compete in the long jump and 400m.  "I'd love to try the long jump before I retire," he said, "because I think I'd be very good at it."  Mike Powell currently holds the record for the long jump with 8 metres 95 and he thinks Bolt could break the 9 metre mark.  At 6 feet 5 inches the Jamaican is perfectly equipped to steal the record.  And never mind 9 metres.  Lengthen the sandpit or he might sail right over the top.
