| Ancelotti named Chelsea coach |
01 June: Carlo Ancelotti has been named the new coach at Chelsea. The former AC Milan coach officially joins the recently-crowned FA Cup winners on a three-year deal after leaving the Italian club by mutual consent at the weekend. During his eight years at Milan he twice led the side to Champions League success in 2003 and 2007 and also won the Serie A title in 2004. Chelsea's owner Roman Abramovich is hoping Ancelotti's pedigree will help his side progress beyond the five Champions League semi-finals of the past six years to finally lift the covetted trophy.
