18 May: Former Springbok Percy Montgomery has announced his retirement from the game. The 35-year-old ended his international career after last season's Tri Nations but maintained his club career with the Stormers in Super 14. He plans to continue in the sport as a kicking consultant for South Africa. With 102 caps to his name, Montgomery is the country's most capped player. He was a member of the 2007 World Cup winning Springbok team, kicking 31 goals from 33 attempts during the successful campaign.
